Due Thursday or Friday: Write 8 Multiple Choice Questions

Please write a quality multiple choice question for each of the following civilizations. Be sure the multiple choice question has at least 8 words in the questions and that the answer choices are at least 3 words each. The easiest way to make an answer choice longer is to explain your answer choice with more words. For example, if my answer choice was "Edmonds" I could make it longer by saying "Edmonds, a social studies teacher at Lake City High School"

Also, be sure you don't write questions all about politics. Do some from different parts of the PERSIAN categories.

Write one MC question for each of the following:
Maya, Aztec, Inca, Umayyad, Abbasids, Delhi, Vikings, Franks and Feudalism

AP Viking essay: Due Tuesday for A1 and A3; Wed for B - 6

Viking Essay:

Two options are available. The first is to compare and contrast the Viking strategy for expansion, accomplishments as an empire and their longterm influences to the Muslim expansion, accomplishments and long term influence between 700- 1200.

Make a double T chart and list the unique things about the Muslims, unique things about the Vikings and their similarities. Be sure to list unique things and similarities for how they expanded, their accomplishments and their long term influences. You will write a thesis statement answering the question and then one body paragraph for expansion compare and contrast, accomplishments compare and contrast and long term influence compare and contrast.

If that seems way to hard then tackle the simpler prompt which is: Describe the expansion, accomplishments and long term influence of the Vikings.

Due Oct 7/8

AP World homework is to re-read all of the notes we have taken since the beginning of the year.

As you finish re-reading the notes for each significant dynasty write a 3-5 sentence paragraph describing its importance to the development of civilization as a whole.

What ideas, inventions, geographical changes, rulers, books, art or other important development did the civilization contribute to our world history? Only include ideas or developments that are unique to the culture and really important. This paragraph should be a nice summary of our notes. Do not include religions or philosophies because we will do a separate assignment about them.

You should write paragraphs about the following civilizations. The paragraphs should be thoughtful but do not have to be thesis statements. Think summary not thesis. The more attention you give to your notes the better.

In China: Shang, Chou, Ch'in, Han

In India: Indus Valley, Aryan, Mauryan (add Gupta if we covered it in your class)

Mesopotamia: Sumaria and/or Babylon, Persia

and one for Ancient Egypt
